Objectivity

The International Style

The international Style in general, I think it looks great and quite modern. Also the buildings are very appeling even though they are very simple and trimmed down and they do not seem as simple as they are to the eye of the beholder, of course, with certain exceptions, such as the Glass house and the Zig-Zag houses which I think must be quite doll living there.

I like when building are simplistic and their 'form follows function' but the buildings which get closer and are precursors or a part of Brutalism are a bit too much, although, I must say, I didn't find Kenzo Tage's buildings anywhere near Brutalism.

Just a thought, the perfect building for me is built with the international style outside and Natural design interiors and furniture.

Scandinavian Architecture and Design

Scandinavian architecture is quite large, there are no small buildings like houses or pavilions. It is all museums or public libraries or airport terminals and I think there should be some small buildings since, yes, brick gives a warm feeling to it and some of their architecture is considered to be 'warm' for the materials, but houses and small buildings are the ones which sould emitt such feelings.

For the desing, some of them are very interesting and nice, but some of them no quite so much, for example, I personally wouldn't like to seat in the Ant chair but the Egg chair looks very comfortable. Scandinavian desing is also quite functional. Every single table in the world should be made like Kaare Klint's chairs because that is just so much better and a lot more comfortable to seat and use.

That being said, I think that the scandinavian design is getting away from objectivity.
